The biggest thing on the plate is that the first scene of Star Child is done! (cues Beethoven's 'Ode To Joy') You can listen to it in the "Show" section. The other development is that the role of Sandra has been casted, and congrats goes to Kate. I'll be adding her information to the cast page and putting her audition clips up when I have a little more time. I also changed the banner, just for variety, and to reflect the resurgence of my interest in Slayers. Those box sets are suddenly very appealing! Anyway, I'm officially registered on Alyx's board, where I'll be sharing the scene with the world, so if you feel like sounding off about it you can follow the link on the "Links" page to get there.

Fixed some formatting issues I had with the page, first and foremost. Second, I added Edwyn Tiong to the cast list, he's going to be playing Samuel. Edwyn's audition clips are available in the "Show" section for you to listen to, and you can hear more of his voice at his web site, which has been added to the "Links" page. Speaking of that, the "Links" and "Mail" pages are operational, which means the entire site is actually up and running. Oh, and I also uploaded one of Lamont's own lines to the "Show" section and added one of Jared's audition lines as well. (cue funky rap music) Gotta keep pushin', movin' on up...Lord have Mercy we're movin' on up...

The launch of the site. You can take a look at the "Info" section for more information about Star Child. The current status of the project stands at the pre-production stage, with the actors being assembled, scripts being revised, and the website being set up (hey, that part's actually done! Yoo hoo, progress!). You can visit the "Cast" list for the cast members that are already set for their roles, and when the first episode is ready, estimated completion time being no later than May 20th, you can click on "Show" to hear it. Finally, if you feel that you can fill a role for this radio play, you can look into "Info," where you'll find character descriptions. Any character that is listed as Open on the "Cast" page is free to audition for, and if you're up for it, e-mail me (Justin) with your request and a link to your online resume and/or sample clips.

Here's to a great project!

What's this about?

Star Child is an online radio play, inspired by different Anime shows and old radio serials. The idea of Star Child began as a book, but evolved into this form of media due to several rewrites by the author. Star Child focuses on Lamont Bowes, a slightly skeptic and equally sarcastic high school senior who is pushed in front of a bus by jealous students. His soul travels to a space between Heaven and the real world called Haven, and there he meets the angel named Samuel. Samuel tells Lamont that he is now a Star Child, or one that is reborn with a specific task given to them by God. Lamont's task is to protect the new girl in his school, Lucy Bates, from a group of 'powerful individuals,' who believe that she has the Heart of God, an item that grants the owner a free trip to Heaven. There's just one problem: Lamont failed self-defense class, ran the ten-minute mile in fifteen minutes, and has trouble picking up a baseball bat! Can this honor student and psychology junkie possibly save a girl from thieves, crazed bike riders, illusionists, and a man who has lost his faith in God? You'll have to listen to find out!
